Body self-assurance truly comes from within one’s self. Individual confidence is internal not external because it comes from the soul. Conforming to the idea’s and standards of beauty is to change the essence of you. Body confidence should exude positive actions. Own who you are and make no apologies, you will be astonished in how powerful you become as a woman in a plus size world.
I’m not saying that being plus size doesn’t come with challenges or moments of weakness. But when we notice the onset of unhealthy behaviors or thoughts we need to conduct a personal inventory. Sometimes the personal inventory may lead us to the assistance of those we respect. Human connection and support is crucial in life period, but especially for the plus size woman losing momentum. Therefore, she must surround herself with either relatable persons or mentors that assist in refueling the positive engine within. But the most important element to plus size body confidence is accepting you. It’s so important that individuals in the plus size community accept themselves the way they are. But if you’re unhappy about the “Here and Now” you I say put a plan of action in place. Otherwise embrace yourself in the fullness and essence of you.
Now let’s talk about how to boost your confidence. As a plus size and curvy Smooches Woman (model) and fitness instructor I always feel empowered and never intimidated. Why you say? Well aside from the fact that my photos are amazing, my classes are sexy and challenging I don’t conform. I never adjust my mindset to that of others. When I’m on the runway I’m walking for me and every other plus size woman that has not yet decided to break the chains of plus size stereotypes. It’s a mental approach for me because our thoughts become our feelings displayed in our behaviors. At the end of the day all I have is myself, God and my thoughts. When people think plus size, they assume it means overweight, fat, or unattractive. But clearly that’s not factual because I’m plus size, healthy, curvy, bold, confident, beautiful and I love me.
I strongly believe what makes me sexy and beautiful is not the size of my body (size doesn’t matter), but what I project. I project self-awareness and confidence. Ladies if there’s a particular thing you don’t like about yourself simply change it, otherwise accept it and learn how to navigate through life wearing it. But wear it with unmeasurable confidence.
For every plus size woman that has talked herself out of experiencing life on her terms because of your size I urge you to stop. For every plus size woman that has or continue to blame the world and those in it for your unhappiness, I urge you to stop. No one has that kind of power unless you give it to them. The only person with the power to stop you from achieving your goals or happiness is you. We get what we put out into the universe. Therefore, if you believe then everyone else will too. But know that everything isn’t for everyone and that is okay. Nevertheless be proud of who you are and don’t conform or change for anyone. Think positive and walk in confidence.
